Welcome to the Red Cape Revolution!

Remember when you were kid and put on your red cape . .?If you've found this page, you've heard a little something about the Red Cape Revolution: Bring Your Superpowers to Work (a business of Coach Darcy LLC.) Read on for more, or just go visit us at RedCapeRevolution.com

What Is the Red Cape Revolution?

At the Red Cape Revolution, our passion is to help everyday professionals discover their superpowers, bring them to work, and make a bigger difference in their corner of the world. We aspire to start a movement--one that injects more Red Cape Revolution: Bring Your Superpowers to Workconfidence, clarity, and creativity in the working world, and one that gently (but firmly) provokes each of us to start thinking better of ourselves and better of the gifts we have to give in our organizations, our communities, and our world.

Underneath our movement is a supportive, lively and slightly irreverent community of experts and everyday people. On our website, you'll find real-time tips and scripts, meet new heroes, and find fresh answers to tough questions about work, career, and success in the new world of work. Plus, you'll have fun, and who doesn't need more of that?!

Wouldn't it feel great to wear your red cape?In the big picture, though, the Red Cape Revolution isn't just about each of us individually getting through the day with less stress, building our careers or having more success. Those things will come. At its heart, the Revolution believes that when more people bring more of their superpowers forward, it'll not only benefit them, but it'll benefit our offices, departments, companies, industries, profession, communities, countries, and even likely our universe. Sure, it's a big dream--but why not try?

How Did It Start?

Our founder and chief creative officer Darcy Eikenberg has been a human resources consultant, communication & change management expert, and most recently a leadership & workplace coach. In the past few years, even before the recession hit, Darcy noticed how many of her clients and colleagues felt worn down in their workplaces, saying they weren't using the best of their talents, but saying they'd given up on any real change. They held their ideas back and kept their heads down, not wanting to rock the company boat. What's worse, Darcy caught herself doing the same things.It's time to put more life into our work

Now, Darcy hates waste, and watching all this wasted talent--including her own, at times--just ticked her off (this is hard to do--she's a nice person.) With all the challenges we have in our organizations and in the world at large, here was the biggest waste of all--people's engaged passions and brainpower.

(We won't waste your time sharing all the research Darcy uncovered supporting her ideas--research showing how our current workplace behavior is killing our intelligence, energy, spirit, health and more. You'd be bored to see all the surveys about declining employee attitudes and engagement that prove the problem is getting worse, even though companies are spending billions on employee and leader development. Plus, the fact that these trends are collapsing our organizations--faced with accelerated competition, demand for innovation, and rising financial pressures--is also kinda irrelevant.)

So she knew she couldn't sit by and watch any longer. And the Red Cape Revolution was born.

Who is the Red Cape Revolution For?

The Red Cape Revolution is for you (and your colleagues, family and friends) if you:

  • Are tired of accepting the status quo, eating away days, weeks, and years of your life doing work that gives you stress rather than energy, worry rather than wonder, pain rather than passion;
  • Know that you have more to give, that there is something inside you that is needed somewhere else, and you're willing to do the work to let it out--even if you're not sure who might want it;
  • Never want to experience fear and uncertainty in the workplace again. That's not saying you'll always be secure, or you'll always know what to do, but it is saying you'll always know that you have the superpowers, the confidence, and the support to figure it out.

Why a Red Cape?

Ahh. . .you may just have to wait to hear more about that. (Or you can read the Coach Darcy September 2010 newsletter here.)
